Laptop batteries, huh? What are they good for? In many cases, certainly they’re not good for doing any actual computing after two or three hours’ use. It’s why so many business travellers end up carrying spare batteries around with them.

The alternative is to invest in a notebook that offers proper battery power. How does up to seven hours sound? Sony’s VAIO TZ12 series offers that, but doesn‘t skimp on features to achieve it. The TZ12MN/N, for instance, is backed up by up to 1.20 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo processor technology, 2GB of RAM and a 100GB hard drive.

Looking at the same object for seven hours wouldn’t be fun if it was ugly, but thankfully that’s not the case here. The TZ12 is super-stylish, and available in Black Carbon-Fibre or Platinum Sand editions to co-ordinate with your outfits.

Meanwhile, the 11.1-inch widescreen display will make it a pleasure to gaze at spreadsheets for seven hours. Maybe. Oh, alright, we can’t do anything about the interestingness (or otherwise) of what you do with the TZ12, but at least you know it’ll keep going as long as you need to.
