Marks & Spencer unveils £149 iPod suit

Marks & Spencer is on a roll right now. No longer the domain of middle-aged, middle-income women, it’s transformed itself and its profits, thanks to some glossy ads and general updating. And now they’re even down with all this new technology, launching an iPod suit in selected stores.

Yes, you can add technology to your off-the-peg wool and lycra suit. It’s thanks to the addition of specially-designed Elektex fabric which turns the inner lapel into a five button control centre for their iPod. According to M&S, that makes it “must-have fashion for the billion-dollar portable MP3 and mobile phone market”.

Well, it does have iPod control, but it’s still a cheap pinstripe suit. How cheap? Well, the iPod jacket retails for £90, with matching trousers an additional £50.
