There’s a lot of people out there using both eBay and Firefox, so it makes a lot of sense to combine the two – as is the case with the eBay Firefox add-on, which has been developed jointly between the two companies and is available to download now as a pre-final version.
Via a side bar, you can quickly access your ebay bids and items for sale, which are updated in real time, as well as receiving live updates (for example, if you have been outbid) and status alerts. And you can search eBay without having to open up an extra window. It also offers extra security, with Account Guard integration for eBay and Firefox anti-phishing protection.
“eBay has always strived to offer its users an easy and safe online trading experience and the Firefox Companion for eBay is an innovative development to support this effort,” said Torsten Schuppe, Head of Interactive Marketing, eBay UK. “We are thrilled about the collaboration with Mozilla and offering the great community of Firefox users an easier, safer and faster way to use eBay and to stay up to date with their auctions.
