Viewsonic seems to have an unhealthy interest in the iPod. Not content with sticking an iPod dock on a computer monitor, it’s now managed to sneak out into a projector – producing the ViewSonic PJ258D.

There is some logic to it. After all, if you have video clips on your iPod, you can throw them on a large screen by simply docking your player. And as an added bonus, it charges your player whilst docked.

Oh yes – and it’s a projector, offering 1080p HD output, 2,000 Lumens, a contrast ratio of 2000:1, a Texas Instruments chipset and all the connectivity you would expect.

Coming soon, expect to pay around £850.
