Ricoh launches Caplio R6- the world's thinnest digital camera

Again, this could be an idle company boast – and I’m sure you’ll let us know if it is. But Ricoh claims its Caplio R6 is the world’s thinnest digital camera at just 20.6mm at its thinnest point.

It’s a 7.24 megapixel model with 7.1x optical zoom and 2.7-inch LCD screen. Features include Vibration Correction, compensating for shake caused by hand movement – the main cause of blurred images. And a Face Recognition mode also picks out a subject’s face, using the optimal settings for taking the picture.

The R6 also offers an ISO of 1600, QVGA movie recording, 54MB of internal memory and a rechargeable battery. You can pick up an R6 in red or black later this month, priced around £230.
