Another new Cyber-Shot model from Sony, this time the T100, Sony’s flagship model with HD output, a large screen and up to 5x zoom from the Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens.

Packed into the all-metal case (just 22.3mm thin) with red, black or “chic red” finish is a large 1 / 2.5 inch Super HAD CCD sensor with a resolution of 8.1 effective megapixels, along with a 5x Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens – the most powerful optical zoom performance found on any Sony compact camera and a 3-inch LCD screen.

Other key features include Sony’s Double Anti-blur technology and a high sensitivity of ISO 3200 for blur-free images indoors or in low light conditions. There’s also Face Detection technology for tracking up to eight human faces, automatically optimising focus, exposure and flash, along with the BIONZ imaging processor for a more responsive, high speed operation. And once you’ve taken your snaps, you can connect the T100 to any HD ready display (with an optional cable) for slideshow playback.

Movie recording is VGA 30fps with audio, internal memory is 28MB and the battery is good for 340 shots. The Cyber-shot T100 will be available throughout Europe from the beginning of March 2007.
