Budget electronics manufacturer Medion has increased its GPS range, adding three new widescreen GoPal devices – the GoPal PNA460, GoPal PNA465 and GoPal PNA470.

All three are in a compact/slim back casing – 130 x 90 x 20 mm and weighing 200g. All models offer a choice of arrow, 2D or 3D on-screen directions, spoken guidance and navigation display information including a compass, distance to the destination, estimated time remaining to the destination and advanced previews of major road signs. They also feature Navteq mapping and Berlitz City Guides for a guide to your chosen destination (if it’s one of 50 European cities). A database showing fixed safety camera locations is also pre-loaded.

The entry-level model is the GoPal PNA 460, featuring a 4.3-inch TFT widescreen colour display, UK and Ireland Navteq mapping preinstalled on a 256MB memory card and an integrated SIRF III GPS receiver. There’s also an integrated music player and photo viewer. Priced at £199, with European mapping available optionally for £79.99. The Medion GoPal PNA 465 adds an integrated Traffic Message Channel (TMC) receiver to re-route around known traffic congestion. It also features pre-installed and retails for £259. At the top end is the GoPal PNA 470, which includes integrated Bluetooth, enhanced navigation functions including the full 63 points of interest categories and a GPS-generated speed display. That retails for £299.
