With new Premiership season just a matter of hours away, everyone’s got an opinion about who will be crowned champions – and if popularity on the net has anything to do with it, the winners will be Liverpool.

They came out on top of the Ask.com Fans Premiership Table, ahead of last year’s champs Chelsea, when it came to most popular football related searches by footie fans online. Transfer speculation and activity seems to be the barometer of search success, with both Liverpool and Chelsea very active in the pre-season, keeping them ahead of Manchester United in the table. Not good news for Bolton and Blackburn, who both dropped out of the top flight, being pipped by Championship teams including  Leeds United, Birmingham City and Hull City.

And the most searched-for player? That’s Thierry Henry. Read on after the turn for the full Ask.com Fans Premiership Table And don’t forget, if you want all the latest football news, you don’t need to search around, you just need to visit Who Ate All The Pies, Shiny’s fantastic footie blog.
