Nintendo brilliantly demonstrated its next home console, the Wii, at
its E3 press conference. The Wii controller was used to slash samurai
swords, drive trucks, fire arrows, amongst other activities. And it was
revealed to have a speaker built into it for extra game audio feedback.
But no pricing or launch dates were revealed. Amongst the other scraps
of Nintendo news was the announcement of WiiConnect24 – a system
whereby your Wii, left on standby, could continue to receive game
downloads and updates from the Internet, without your presence.
