Rio’s added another hard disk player to its line up. The company’s already got 20GB, 5GB and 1.5GB hard disk players, and this latest addition provides you with 2.5GB, or up to 80 hours of music. For some reason, the company’s decided not to give the new player a name like Carbon, Nitrus or Karma, and has instead settled for a less flashy (and less catchy) ce2100.
No catchy name and no exciting new product design either: Rio has stuck the ce2100 into the same casing as the 5GB Rio Carbon (with the same 20-hour battery life claimed by the Carbon). No UK pricing as yet, but the US price looks likely to be around $200, which is $50 less than the Carbon. Perhaps more importantly, Rio has also made the bold step of releasing the Carbon in a second colour: pearl.
