Elonex's PC in a TV
One of the big trends of next year is likely to be PCs housed in LCD and plasma screens. Elonex has got in early with the eXentia Gold a computer in a 17inch screen that also features the MediaCenter version of microsoft’s Windows XP operating system.
This includes a secondary interface that enables users to access music and video content via a supplied remote control and pitches the PC at a space traditionally occupied by a TV.
Retailing for £1,615, the eXentia Gold also features an integrated TV tuner with digital video recording facilities, a 3GHz Intel Pentium 4 processor, 512MB Ram and a 200GB hard disk. It is accompanied by a wireless keyboard and mouse.
Cheaper, lower specced versions, appropriately named silver and bronze, are also available.
