galaxy-s3-launch 22.jpgThinking about making the jump from iPhone to one of Samsung’s Galaxy devices? Well, Samsung are today making the transition a whole lot easier, offering a free app that makes transferring content between the two rival devices much easier.

Easy Phone Sync lets new Galaxy mobile owners transfer iTunes music, videos, pictures, contacts and podcasts from an iPhone to Samsung’s Android handset range. Unfortunately, it wont work with other manufacturers’ Android devices.

“We know that traditionally iPhone users have been reluctant to switch to an Android device because they couldn’t use iTunes to manage their content,” said Simon Stanford, VP of Telecommunications and Networks for Samsung UK.

“Easy Phone Sync means people can now enjoy their iTunes content on a Samsung Galaxy phone.”

It’s a smart move. Dyed-in-the-wool Apple fans will always hold out for the next generation of iPhone, but fence sitters just concerned about keeping hold of all their valuable files can now rest safe in the knowledge that, should they pick up a Samsung Galaxy S3 or similar, all their prized files and data can make the jump across smoothly.

  • FYI, you don’t have to download anything to move itunes from pc to galaxy. i opened the windows explorer window to the S3 music folder, and one window to the itunes music folder, and just select all, drag and drop into the S3. If they needed to be converted to mp3, windows automatically asked me if i wanted to convert them. no downloading apps. nothing more than a simple drag and drop.

  •  At the moment this only works for user in the UK.  At least from what I can find.  That doesn’t sound like they’re going to shatter sales records if that’s the case.  What a pain in the neck.

  • Good move for samsung, also showing that they dont want to limit their users reach. Also giving apple users something to think about that this time samsung is catering to their demands.
