lifetouch-l-580x259.jpgIt’s not just Microsoft revealing new tablets today, but NEC too. They’ve just revealed their LifeTouch L range, available in either business or consumer configurations, just like Microsoft’s Surface.

Both running Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), the consumer model comes in 32GB or 16GB sizes, while the business model sticks with just 16GB.

Aside from the storage options, the only real difference between the two is the added security options in the business edition, protecting your tablet from any attempts at industrial espionage. Or Face-hacks.

So whichever model you opt for, you’ll get facial recognition unlocks and app folder grouping features.

Each measures just 7.9mm thick, a fair bit thinner than the 9.4mm iPad, and both weigh 540g which again is much less than the iPad. A 10.1 inch screen sits on the front of both, rocking 1,200 x 800 resolutions, while battery life is quoted as 13 hours of web surfing and roughly 10 hours of video playback.

We’ll pass on any pricing and availability information as we get it.
