microsoft pink phones.jpgMicrosoft are getting set to enter the smartphone hardware war with the launch of two new smartphones on April 12th. Could we finally be seeing the launch of Microsoft’s Pink phones, set to replace the failed Sidekick handsets?

Though Microsoft have yet to confirm what’s set to be on show at their event event titled “It’s Time To Share”, CNet’s Ina Fried puts safe money on it being the Pink handsets.

If that proves to be the case, it seems we’ll be getting the low-down on the rumoured Microsoft Turtle and Microsoft Pure handsets. They are thought to be running a version of the Sidekick’s Danger OS that looks to bridge the gap between Windows Mobile 6.5 and Windows Phone 7.

We’ll keep you posted on what the event turns out to be come Monday the 12th April.
