british gas.jpgBritish Gas are set to release Energy Smart, an iPhone app designed to help customers avoid estimated bills.

Rather than have a meter-man visit your home, Energy Smart lets users submit gas and electricity meter readings straight to British Gas themselves. Users should then receive a more accurate monthly or quarterly bill as a result.

Other features of the App include:

  • A step-by-step guide on how to read gas and electricity meters
  • The ability to email British Gas customer services with any question
  • A directory of 24 hour emergency contacts for gas and all regional electricity suppliers

Benjamin Braun, Head of Online Services at British Gas said: “The iPhone App is another great way to help customers avoid estimated bills. We are committed to helping our customers understand, control and manage their energy consumption.”
