Carphone Warehouse announces 4G network, iD

4G, Mobile phones

Carphone Warehouse
is set to  launch a new 4G network tomorrow (Tuesday 12th May) called iD. It claims to offer the best value 4G plans on the market with roaming covering 22 countries.

Commenting on the launch, Graham Stapleton, UK CEO at Carphone Warehouse, said: iD gives increased flexibility and value to customers who are getting increasingly frustrated with the ‘one size fits all’ approach. Launching with a range of plans – including 12 and 24 month contracts alongside 30 day options – means we can offer solutions based on how customers actually use their mobile phone.”

In addition to the new 4G plans, Carphone Warehouse has also announced a deal with the Samsung A3 – a 12 month 4G plan with 300 mins, 5000 texts and 1GB of data for £19.50. Another deal is for the Nokia 635 –  a 24 month 4G plan with 150 mins, 5000 texts and 250MB of data for £7.50

Prices for the various 4G options are below:

The ‘Shockproof’ plans

4G Plans from only £7.50 per month

Plans are automatically capped and made ‘Shockproof’ to avoid nasty surprises with a £5 monthly buffer that customers can view and change via

 The ‘TakeAway’ (roaming) plans

24 month plans from £25.50 per month

For customers who want to avoid high roaming charges when travelling, plans include – Carphone Warehouse claims – more free roaming than any other network. Roaming will cover calls, texts and data in, 22 countries.

 The SIM Only plans

30 day plans from £7.50 per month / data only plans from £5.00 per month

Flexible SIM only deals feature high data allowances on 30 day rolling contracts. Deals include an unlimited data plan, featuring 2000 minutes and 5000 texts, for just £20 per month at launch.

 The ‘Go To’ plans

12 month plans from £13.50 per month / 24 month plans from £11.50 per month

Catering to the ‘always on’ customer – with a focus, Carphone Warehouse claims, on generous data allowances at key price points.
