PS4 and Xbox One sales up to 3m in the UK – ahead of expectations

A great spot by Videogamer, which has been going through retailer GAME’s annual report. It reveals that the install base – in other words the total number of both consoles sold in the UK – is now over 3 million. (3 million over all – not just consoles sold at GAME.)

Apparently this is ahead of expectations – perhaps driven by the relatively early price war between the two consoles (triggered when Microsoft got a grip and focused on gamers after a disastrous launch.)

It’ll be interesting to see over the course of the consoles’ lifetimes if they can beat the last generation – or whether other modern gaming devices like tables and phones will eat into sales.
