“Amazon Dash Button” April Fools Joke actually looks useful

Amazon has posted the above video showing off what it claims is called “Dash button” – a stick on device that will automatically re-order household essentials automatically. So when you run out of (say) washing up liquid, hit the button mounted on your sink and Amazon Prime will ship some more to you.

The story goes that you would connect it to your phone and configure the product you want the button to order.

However, with it being April 1st tomorrow, we’re about 98% certain this is an April Fools joke. Which is a damn shame as it looks like it could be genuinely useful.

  • I’m not sure how a single button that is dedicated to a single product purchase could be useful. I guess I could buy one for every product and stick them all over my bathroom like Willy Wonka’s great glass elevator. Better left as an April Fool’s joke.
