Twitter makes Twitter Search actually work like it should do

If you’ve ever searched Twitter looking for an old tweet you’ll have noticed a problem – go back more than couple of weeks and search will claim the Tweet doesn’t exist. The good news now is that the company has made the search box act like you might expect it to – and search through tweets going back to the beginning of time.
In a blog post, the company has outlined some of the technical challenges involved in making the new search tech work: It turns out that it is rather complicated business reconciling archived tweets with tweets that are freshly incoming and stored in RAM.
The upshot is that if you’ve ever tweeted anything embarrassing, now might be the time to start worrying about it.
