Now this is clever – Sky have become the first UK broadcaster to enable remote record in one click from Twitter. Read on to find out how it works.

The service, called #WatchOnSky integrates with Twitter using “Twitter cards” – the same thing that turns images, videos and other multimedia from specific providers into videos and photos right there on the Twitter page.

What’s clever here is that the links directly through to Sky Go and Sky’s record functions – which means you could conceivably see a tweet about Game of Thrones on your phone and lunchtime and set it to download on your box for when you get home in one click. Brilliant.

All you need to do to make it work is link your Sky box to your Sky ID – the same thing that is used for accessing Sky Go on demand.

Sky claim the link should work with any tweets tagged #WatchOnSky, though I suspect it is more related to the URLs that are being shared. Let us know how you get on with it in the comments.
