Grand Theft Auto V is slated for release this Spring on the Xbox 360 and PS3, and while no official confirmation has been given by developers Rockstar regarding a PC version, a new listing for the PC version of the game on Amazon France suggests the latest instalment in the mega-popular crime sim franchise could be hitting desktops too.

The site is currently listing GTA V as a pre-order item for PC gamers, alongside the confirmed PS3 and Xbox 360 editions.

While there’s the possibility that its a mistake, Amazon France has a reliable track record when it comes to breaking news of unconfirmed gaming titles. In the past, the site has been the first place to mention commercially the likes of Call of Duty: Black Ops II, the Killzone Trilogy and the Assassin’s Creed Anthology.

Rockstar have so far only stated that “for those asking about the PC platform, we’re currently focused on the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game and don’t have any details to share about a PC version at this time.” However, Rockstar maestro Dan Houser told IGN that “everything else is up for consideration”, suggesting the game could make the jump to the PC platform eventually.

A fan petition calling for a PC version of Grand Theft Auto 5 has already amassed over 144,000 signatures.
