bfi-logo.jpgFilm fans with Samsung Smart TVs get a welcome app update in the form of the BFI (British Film Institute) App.

Offering curated content from the 56th London Film Festival as well as trailers and interviews with the likes of Bill Murray and Dustin Hoffman, it offers top-notch movie news and features from the leading force in British film enthusiasts.

The app will also replay Q & A sessions with actors, screenwriters and directors, meaning that those who can’t secure a ticket for the BFI’s often-oversubscribed London Southbank HQ events can still enjoy them from the comfort of their sofas.

“We are delighted to take the riches of film culture and especially British film into so many homes with Samsung,” said the BFI’s Acting Digital Director Chris Travers.

“This new app gets Samsung’s customers closer to the action with all that’s happening in the world of film. It’s a key staging post in realising the BFI’s ambitions for a wider suite of on-demand services, connecting audiences with our amazing content.”

Once the festival is over, the app will continue to provide consistently updated gems from the BFI’s extensive archive of rare footage.

The BFI App can be accessed right now from the Smart Hub screen on Samsung Smart TVs.
