Apple patents the flick of the wrist. Yes really.
Flick at your peril, because now this motion is trademarked by the mighty Apple.
The fact that a court of law has agreed to grant this patent is just proof that fortune favours the bold, isn’t it, because frankly this is quite a stretch.
Okay, so Apple hasn’t really patented the flick of the wrist in all walks of life, just when done on a touch screen display. And only when used to unlock something. So you’ll only be in breach if you invent something that has to be unlocked in a flicking manner, and only if you add an icon explaining this fact, with instructions exactly how to do it.
Now, who can tell us how to unlock an Android device? Anything like what’s patented by Apple? Hm …[via The Register]

Apple deserves this patent since they are the one who started the slide to unlock feature in a phone.
