playstation-vita.jpgThose looking to pre-order the PlayStation Vita, Sony’s PSP follow-up that until this week’s E3 conference was going by the name of the Sony NGP, can now do so thanks to Amazon and GAME.

The high-spec gaming console comes in two flavours; Wi-Fi only, and Wi-Fi with 3G models. The Wi-Fi only model weighs in at £229.99, while the 3G-packing version costs £279.99.

It’s a pretty expensive bit of kit then, when you consider the original PSP cost just £179.99 at launch. While the recent release of the Nintendo 3DS also had an RRP of £229.99, most retailers quickly dropped the price to nearer the £180 mark. It’s unclear yet whether or not retailers will drop the price closer to the console’s launch.
