lenovo-c315-touch-screen.jpgIf people think the iPad is a giant iPod, God only knows what they will be saying about the latest planned venture from Lenovo. Speaking to Tech Radar, the Lenovo’s senior specialist for marketing William Kai revealed the company’s plans to launch a 23 inch tablet before the year is out.

Based on the technology from their all-in-one touchscreen PC range, the idea would be to create a semi-mobile device that could dock with a traditional desktop base or be used on your lap throughout the house, tablet-style.

“We think that there is potential for a 23-inch tablet,” said Cai. “We’d have to take care of battery life and we are working to get the weight down.

“It’s obviously not for full mobility use, but it could be moved from room to room in the house and used with a full keyboard, or as a television.Or you could lay it on a table top and use it for family games.

“We’re hoping that we can launch it later this year.”

It’s an interesting idea, particularly if they can keep the battery ticking over when powering a screen that big. Just dont expect to be squeezing it into your pocket any time soon.
