Knocking the wind out of Apple’s sails a fair few hours ahead of their media event this evening, details of the iPad 2 have reportedly hit the web prematurely through Amazon Germany.
A 16GB model was up for grabs on the online store, priced at 499 Euros, stating that the tablet may be available as soon as March 17th. It was, of course, hastily removed.
In terms of specs, it all seems a little underwhelming. While a 1.2 GHz processor, superfast data transfers thanks to Thunderbolt connectivity and at least one camera are all present, that’s pretty much all she wrote. No high res-screen and no increased connectivity options. Bummer.
Of course, every leak has to be taken with a pinch of salt, and there’s not long to wait to see if the details prove true. We’ll be live-blogging from 5.45 pm GMT right here live from Apple’s London simulcast with all the official specs, so keep your eyes on Tech Digest tonight for all the launch info.
