The new social news aggregator My Taptu launches today.
The Cambridge, UK based company is launching My Taptu as a new mobile competitor to Flipboard.

The app allows you to create highly personalized ‘streams’ to deliver content that maters to you in a simple, visually elegant format. At a glance you can obtain information on sports, news, your Facebook friends or anything else you care about, all without having to hop between multiple apps.

The “Streams” are available in four different ways and can be added easily within your app. The first option is single streams. This allows you to get content from your favourite publishers or sources by adding their specific streams. Secondly, you can add Mixed Topic Streams. This gives you the latest content from a variety of sources on a certain topic, helping you to discover new content and sources. The third stream option is Beyond RSS. This creates visual streams of websites that do not have a RSS feed or a mobile presence. Finally you can add Social Streams, which integrate Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn helping you to keep up to date with your friends as well as previewing the articles that they tweet or share with you.

The free app is available for both iPhone and Android devices.
