Mewbox brings DRM-free music downloads to Android phones

Mobile phones, Tech Digest news

Mewbox_logo.jpgMewbox, the Android phone owners’ answer to Apple’s iTunes music service, goes live today.

Powered by 7Digital, Mewbox offers DRM-free downloads of 4 million tracks.

Though the service has been available to owners of the Archos 5 Android slate for some time, this is the first time Mewbox has been available for an Android handset. Don’t worry if your Android phone is an older model; Mewbox will be fully compatible with all Android powered phones.

Mewbox isn’t currently available on the Android Marketplace, but you can grab the software from the Mewbox homepage.
