vodafone-music.jpgVodafone has announced today that they’ve agreed a deal with Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment and EMI Music to provide users with DRM-free music downloads via the mobile network – no pesky sideloading necessary.

On the one hand, it’s quite a poke in the eye for Nokia with their Comes With Music DRM that they can’t quite shake but on the other, unlike Nokia, this isn’t going to be free. Is it? Surely not. Unlimited would be good but we’ll have to wait on the full details and, with any luck, a fourth major or we’ll be missing Led Zeppelin, Tangerine Dream, Queen and Sum 41. (Spot the one I don’t care about)
