Philips has announced that their eagerly awaited range of GoGear PMPs is to hit the shelves in June and we’ve got a price list for you too.

These entry level MP3, WMA, AAC players come either with 2GB or 4GB of memory and of those sizes you can opt for a model with an FM radio or without. The 2GB SA2820 is £29.99 (£34.99 with radio) and the 4GB SA2840 is £39.99 (£44.99 with radio).

All measure just 41mm x 41mm x 15mm and are billed to provide 20 hours of playback before they run out of juice. They come with 128 x 64 OLED displays on their mirrored finish and are USB 2.0 compatible, of course.

The only controversial point is the audio upscaling Full Sound technology to make up for MP3 compression. It’s really your call on whether you want the added artifacts or the original sound, even if it is a little distorted, but what I will say is that these Philips PMPs look good and are very reasonably priced indeed.
