There aren’t a lot of all-in-one desktop PCs around, with Apple having most of the market with the iMac, and Gateway’s “One” PC. Now HP is entering the market with its TouchSmart IQ500 integrated PC.

The PC features a slim touchscreen which recognises the movement , of a finger across it, and offers an alternative way of accessing information (and also a way of smudging up your computer monitor). It allows users to access multimedia, drag photos around, and watch TV, without having to use the mouse or keyboard.

It offers a 22-inch high definition widescreen display, Intel Core 2 Duo processor, has a TV tuner, DVD burner, and integrated stereo speakers. Finished in glossy piano black with “elegant espresso side-panel highlights”.

Expected to retail for around £1,099 and arriving from August.
