Let’s be clear, you can’t DJ without the tunes – but there is a growing amount of kit on the market that allows you to DJ without carrying around the records, with the upgraded Denon DJ DN-HD2500 offering storage via an internal hard drive.

It’s an all-in-one ‘nerve centre’ for the serious DJ, which allows you to store tunes on the hard drive, as well as offering connectivity for additional USB devices and for Denon’s own BU-4500 twin CD/MP3 drive unit, not to mention easy importing of tunes to the drive.

There’s a wide range of features, which includes that 40GB hard drive, an intuitive file navigation system, four built-in effects, three platter effects and pitch range/deep pitch resolution. Expect to pay £649 plus VAT.
