The latest addition to Philips’ Streamium family of media players is the WAC3500D, which packs in an 80GB drive, enough to store up to 1500CDs.

It might not be the best-looking system on the high street, but it does compensate with some interesting features, including that drive, the ability to stream your music via Wi-Fi to up to five locations in the house (different tracks if you like), MP3/WMA storage and playback, a choice of quality and format for CD ripping, internet radio, iPod docking and USB connectivity.

There’s also a 2x 40W RMS Class ‘D’ digital amplifier, large driver compact 2 way speakers, Dynamic Bass Boost and a full remote. The WAC3500D will be available in October with an approximate retail price of £299.99.
