HTC Omni: the most dribble-worthy smartphone ever

Mobile phones

Just look at it! I think it’s rubbish when technology journalists talk about gadgets in terms of ‘sexiness’ – as if they’d really spend a romantic night in rubbing themself against an MP3 player – but the HTC Omni really is the slinkiest smartphone you’ll ever see.

It’s got a QWERTY keyboard and touchscreen interface, a 3.1-megapixel camera, HSDPA connectivity plus Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, runs Windows Mobile 6.0, and looks like the supermodel child of an iPod and a Nintendo DS.

It’s apparently due out later this year, although the pic above and all those details are from a leaked HTC roadmap document, which means it’s still possible it’s an elaborate hoax. But if not, the Omni looks set to make its staid smartphone rivals look, well, distinctly unsexy.
