We have previously featured Sony’s new Vaio FZ series of laptops, but it’s only part of Sony’s summer range, which also includes the N30, BX40 and AR40.

The N30 includes the Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 2GB of memory, a 15.4-inch X-black widescreen and a hard disc of 120GB. There’s also an SD card and Sony Memory Stick slot, along with Windows Vista.

The BX40 series is a business-friendly machine, with a dual core Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 processor, 2GB of RAM, 120GB hard disk, 15.4-inch widescreen display, 1.3 megapixel Motion Eye webcam, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, re-writable DVD drive, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2300 GPU with 128MB of dedicated video memory and data security via a fingerprint recognition system. There’s also G-Sensor HDD Shock Protection, which detects abrupt motion and automatically parks the drive heads, preventing a ‘head crash’ if the notebook is struck or dropped.

The AR40-Series packs an integrated Blu-ray Disc optical drive, with the top-end model also featuring an Intel Core 2 Duo processor T7500, 320GB hard drive and software to edit their personal HD video content, then burn it onto a Dual Layer 50GB Blu-ray disc. There’s also a 17-inch double lamp X-black LCD widescreen display capable of 1080p Full HD, and an integrated hybrid digital/analogue TV tuner complete with remote control.

Pricing and shelf dates yet to be confirmed.
