Canon has upgraded its IXUS N800 IS to the eight megapixel IXUS 950 IS – and it’s set for launch later this month.

The metallic 950 IS features a 2.5-inch LCD screen, 4x optical zoom, Optical Image Stabilizer (OIS), DIGIC III image processor, faster processing and advanced Noise Reduction. And no new digital camera would be complete without Face Detection Technology and Red-Eye Correction.

There’s also an ISO of 1600 with Auto ISO Shift for improved low light shooting, time lapse movie capture and VGA video recording.

Expect it at the end of May, priced around £329.
