The 7.1 megapixel W30 has 3x optical zoom and a 2.5-inch LCD screen with adjustable brightness (for improved outdoor viewing). The waterproof function allows for uses at 3 metres continuously for 2 hours – in previous models underwater photography was possible at depths of only 1.5 meters for a period of 30 minutes.
The W30 features face recognition technology and digital SR (Shake Reduction) mode that automatically adjusts the sensitivity to match the brightness of the subject, reducing camera shake and blurring when capturing still images. And there’s video shooting at 30fps with Movie Shake Reduction, if you want a steady clip to upload to YouTube.
The Optio W30 will be on sale from March for around £189.99.
