Logitech launches QuickCam Communicate STX Plus webcam for Windows Live Messenger

Logitech has unveiled a new webcam – the QuickCam Communicate STX Plus, developed specifically for Windows Live Messenger’s video calling feature.

The webcam is optimised for Windows Live Messenger and has a privacy shade which mutes the video stream when closed and launches Windows Live Messenger by default as soon as it’s is opened. It also features a high quality VGA CMOS sensor with a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels, plus enhanced image performance even if you’re in poor light. The package also includes the Logitech Internet Chat headset, which has a noise-cancelling microphone and stereo sound.

You should be able to pick up the QuickCam Communicate STX Plus from the end of November in the UK, with a retail price of around £49.99.
