Napster to give away free MP3 players to new subscribers

MP3 players

The one drawback of Napster’s Napster To Go unlimited download to player package is trying to find a portable device you like that actually works with it. Well, it seems like Napster has a solution – they’ll give you a compatible MP3 player for free if you sign up from 14th September 2006.

Although we’ve not been told specifically what player you get, the picture provided by Napster shows a Sandisk Sansa M200, with 512MB of storage – enough for around 240 tracks at a time. But before you get dismissive, Napster quotes research from Screen Digest that reveals the majority of MP3 players sold in the UK are in fact flash based devices, with a price point of between £30 to £99. A price bracket this player fits into.

If you’re interested in the offer, the cost of the package is £14.95 per month – and it’s PC only.
