Along with the AudioStation, Logitech has also launched the AudioStation Express speaker system, which should give you plenty of sound, but without a few of the thrills of the higher-end model.

The AudioStation Express is an Apple-friendly glossy white, with black grilles and ports. One big plus against the AudioStation is portability – you can run it off mains or you can stick in some AA batteries and take it into the garden. It’s also smaller than its higher-priced relative, but can still deliver a full-range sound, thanks to two 2.5-inch Max-X high-excursion drivers and a bass port. The AudioStation Express supports the Universal Dock Adaptor specification from Apple, so all current and future iPods with a dock connector on the base are compatible to play music on the system.

In addition, using the system’s video output jack (on the rear), you can view your iPod photos and movies on your TV and there’s an auxiliary input that allows you to use the speaker system with early iPod models as well as other audio devices. There’s also a wireless remote control for adjusting volume, track forward, track back, play and pausing the music.

Available in October, you can pick it up for £79.99.
