Anyone who has set up a home or small office network will know how difficult it can be to manage and oversee what’s going on. Propellerhead has been testing a freeware utility called The Dude, which displays all of the connections to your PC and local and wide area networks in an easy to understand graphic map. It automatically scans all PC connected to the network — handy if you suspect a hack attack — you can monitor traffic flows and it can be set to alert you if there’s a problem.
The program works on all versions of Windows, Linux and Mac and supports all common used protocols and standards. For more great freeware utilites and PC tweaks tips visit the archive at PCTopTips
