Levi's to produce iPod jeans

I love a pair of Levi’s. And I love technology – yet somehow I’m now convinced about the merits of the latest clothing/technology hybrid – the Levi’s RedWire DLX Jeans for the iPod.

Apparently the jeans feature a special joystick incorporated into the jeans’ pocket to enable easy operation of the iPod. The four-way joystick allows the wearer to easily play/pause, track forward, track back and adjust the volume control without ever removing the iPod from the pocket. An iPod docking cradle is hidden within a side pocket and a retractable headphone unit has been built directly into the garment to prevent tangles.

The future of clothing or a short-lived fashion whim? You can decide when the jeans hit the market towards the end of 2006. At least it will dispense with the need for a TuneBuckle belt!
