CES 2006: Spyder for your TV

The only kind of spiders I get on the telly are the ones that crawl over the screen after making their descent from the cobweb on the living room ceiling (I really should dust more often). But if I really wanted to enhance my TV viewing I should get this little gadget from Datacolor called the SpyderTV – at least that’s what the fella on the stand at CES reckoned.

You stick the suction mount device on the TV screen and picture results are fed to your desktop or notebook PC, telling you to adjust your picture for optimum viewing. It’s an ingenious idea though I’m really not sure many people, apart from die-hard videophiles, could be bothered with all the hassle.
