PS3 to be Linux compatible

Share

Here’s an interesting PS3 related titbit for you. Apparently the next-generation console is going to be able to run Linux, although it won’t come as standard: you’re going to have to buy a separate hard drive to run it. Apart from giving Linux a small boost, this lends slightly more credit to Sony Computer Entertainment President Kuturagi’s earlier, slightly outrageous, claims that the PS3 was ‘not going to be a games device’, as reported previously on Tech Digest.
