The next generation of graphics cards will be coming to a trade show near you soon, with the announcement that nVidia is planning to launch its next-generation Geforce 7800 on June 21 in San Francisco, with ATI rumoured to be unveiling the R520 about a month later on July 26th. The Geforce 7000 series are expected to have 24 pixel processing pipelines and eight vertex engines. That means that the chips are capable of calculating 860m vertices and 10.32bn pixels per second. Less information is out on the ATI R520, except a report from the Inquirer that it scored more than 10,000 marks on 3dmark 2005. Whoa.
