AOL starts free mail service

AOL has just launched a free webmail service as part of the upgrade to AOL Instant Messenger (AIM).  Although it’s been beta-ing for a while, good old AOL mail will now be available to Joe Public. Among the draws are 2GB of space, spam filters and anti-virus protection. For those of you still on the paid AOL mail service – which lost members hand over fist last year thanks to Hotmail and Yahoo – you now have unlimited space on your email account. Which is nice.
