The swiftly approaching launch of HDTV has done wonders for the selection of top class TVs this year; now Thomson has joined the list of manufacturers placing their offerings on the altar of HD readiness. Eleven LCD TVs make up part of the Thomson Scenium range and come well equipped to face the task of upcoming advances in telly technology; they have DVI jacks, PC connections, component video input and built in
mîcro sub-woofers, the larger models also have 3 Scart inputs and all
have achieved the HD Ready status. On top of that, each use Thomson’s Hi-Pix processing system and WXGA resolutions.
The range consists of three 23" models, the 23LB220S4 has a silver
finish, the LB230B4 and LB230S4 have integrated DVD players and are
available in silver or black. The 27" selection, which mostly vary only
in style, are composed of basic silver and black models (27LB220S4 and
27LB220B4), there is also a silver, glass panel finish design on the
27LB225S5. There is also a black 27LB230B4 which has an integrated DVD
player. Topping the range off are the 32" models (32LB220S4 and
32LB220B4) available in silver or black.
The new Thomson HD Ready range is set to become available for the summer but no word on the prices yet.
