3G, 3-megapixel, Smartphone – but no mention of iPod phone from Motorola

Believe it or not, there are other phones being launched in Cannes today, it’s just that Motorola seems to be doing the best job of getting our attention. We’ll get to the others later, but first just to tell you about Motorola’s latest new line-up.

Three handsets have been added to the company’s current releases, but there’s still no confirmation of which one, if any, is going to include the iPod funtionality they’ve all been harping on about. The E1060 seems like the most likely candidate since it’s the one being pitched as the music fanatic’s handset. The 3G handset offers all the usual third generation multimedia capabilities and comes with a 1.3-megapixel camera. Meanwhile, the E1120 is a candy bar handset with a 3-megapixel camera on board, no less.

There’s also an 8X digital zoom (no optical by the sounds of things), 30 lux lamp for lighting and video recording at more than 25 frames per second.

Finally, the A1010 is the smartphone handset that’s shown up on a number of sites already. The handset includes all the top-notch PIM features you’d expect, with 48MB of memory, push email and web browsing facilities. It’s no slouch in the multimedia department either, offering a large colour touchscreen and 1.3-megapixel camera.
