The Samsung Q40 weighs just 1.15 kg and is under an inch thick, but still packs plenty under the bonnet, including an Intel 1.2 GHz  Core Solo processor, 512MB memory and a 60GB drive and features a 12.1" widescreen SuperClear display, DVD re-writer and wireless connectivity.

It comes with Windows XP plus security software and is available now, priced at £1,299.99.
