If you’re going to sell out, you may as well sell out hard. To coincide with the Monty Python arena shows at the O2 next month, the ageing comedy troop has released a cash-in mobile game.

Loosely based on the classic sketch, players have to guide John Cleese around a series of obstacles whilst collecting coins… whilst he collects coins.

After years of the Pythons resisting reforming for seemingly high-minded creative reasons, it has finally come to this. If you’d like to download the game it’ll cost 99p and is available on both the iOS and Google Play app stores.

Here’s how the developers describe it:

“Monty Python invites you to join that British bastion of eccentric loco-motion – The Ministry of Silly Walks”

“Your assignment as a member of this venerable organisation is to showcase your increasingly frantic promenading as far as you possibly can.”

As you and your stiff upper lip travel through the streets of London take care to avoid obstacles and pesky pigeons. Bank coins and collect power ups to help take your walk to new heights of silliness.”

The game promises “Sumptuous 3D Graphics”, “Realistic physics and ragdoll” and “Regular updates”. Here’s the original sketch, in case you’ve forgotten:

We’re still waiting for an app based upon the sketch show Come Fly With Me that lets you take selfies then make quasi-racist changes to them.
